Bruce LaDuke, Question Scientist, Integral Futurist, and Managing Director of Instant Innovation, LLC in Indianapolis, Indiana talks about Integral Futuring and the three dynamics that contribute to the current state of any society or social division:

  • Knowledge Advance - The Center is Knowledge Creation,
  • Social Context - The Center is the Balance of Interests and Economy (Includes education, industry, and economic development) and,
  • The Center is Supply and Demand. It is the combination of these three dynamics that creates the national or international social state.

Integral Futuring is a human-based process driven approach to future society. It offers an important alternate paradigm to traditional machine-based artificial intelligence philosophy.

The three founders of The Hub contributed video interviews about their work to the COINs 2010 community in celebration of the COINs 2010 Conference hosted by the Savannah College of Art & Design located in Savannah, Georgia, October 7-9, 2010.

Alberto Masetti, founder of Hub Milan, shares an interview with us about Milan's creative space and talks about the spread of collective intelligence.

Hub Milan is an example of investing in Quality, Connected Place - one of five areas of innovation investment in Open Source Economic Development.

Hub Milan is one of a network of 27 Hub models, each a distinctive example of how to   identify and connect place-based interests and assets.

Founders of Hub Zurich and Hub Sao Paulo also contributed interviews and we'll be posting them to this blog subsequently.

The Swarm Creativity Framework is a guide to help entrepreneurs, scientists and business leaders successfully navigate a shift in mindset from scarcity to abundance. Swarm creativity is a discipline driven by the laws of natural systems, and is designed to catalyze individual creativity, communication and collaboration, ultimately leading to flourishing cultures of innovation.

Swarm Creativity powers the COINs 2010 community and with it the Science of Collaboration. Researchers and industry leaders share insights and innovations in health care, design, the creative industries, engineering and technology. The community generates a collective intelligence to solve the social, economic and environmental challenges of the world.

This is the value of I-Open interviews and conversations.

COINS 2009 Conference: the Emerging Science of Collaboration - Update 10/7/09

The COINS 2009 conference hosted by the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) is the first time people from many different places and disciplines have come together to share information and research about their work in collaboration. I'm looking forward to meeting a whole community of people interested in sharing insights and innovations in the emerging Science of Collaboration. The conference is a gathering (a swarm!) of leaders from research, business, and creativity.

The program (opens tomorrow evening) includes training in Cool Hunting - the science of finding and tracking trends - and many presentions covering the diverse applications of collaboration and collective intelligence in creativity, design, and in health care, knowledge management, and business innovation.

Explore the tabs on the beautiful COINS 2009 web space (thanks SCAD!!)

Enjoy the short video above with Peter Gloor, Research Scientist, MIT, who talks about the COINS 2009 conference and the value collaborative innovation networks offer to creativity and collaboration in business, and for anyone building enterprise.

You can start to learn more about collaborative innovation networks (COINS) in the delightful book, "Swarm Creativity - competitive advantage through Collaborative Innovation Networks"  by Peter Gloor.
